The Recap..Halloween Edition
Our first ever edition of the Get Ready in 10 makeover segment couldn’t have gone more perfectly! For this makeover, our GirlTalk fashionistas Sahar and Blu thought what better way to celebrate Spooky Season than with a head turning Halloween costume?
Every year, we as girls battle with deciding on whether we want a costume that’s sexy or one that’s scary. That’s why Vera (@veraelly.vu), a gorgeous brunette with a preppy, mostly earth-toned personal style, was the perfect person to have as the participant for our first makeover. When we asked her if she already had some ideas for characters to dress up as, she told us she was caught between Cruella de Vil of 101 Dalmatians & Velma Dinkley from Scooby Doo. Blu was tasked with making creepy, evil Cruella look glamorous & sexy. Sahar took on the challenge of making our typically innocent & sweet Velma look scary & menacing.
When we met Vera, she was wearing a snug, brown plaid dress over a black turtleneck paired with black stiletto sandals. We took some quick shots of her cute outfit in the GirlTalk studio to prepare her for a dramatic transformation!
Blu presented her costume concept first. She put Vera in an elegant plunge-neckline black dress & a red silk lined Dalmatian print coat. She added two-toned red and black Louboutins and a classy cigarette holder to elevate the look. Cruella could shut any black & white party zown in that outfit.
Then, Sahar showed Vera her costume. She had Vera try on a cozy orange knit sweater with a cheeky, pleated burgundy skirt. She suggested Velma’s classic thick framed black glasses with a magnifying glass accessory for extra mystery-solving realness. Then things got...bloody >:)
In the end, Vera chose to be a creepy queen this Halloween. She absolutely loved Sahar’s unique take on Velma Dinkley. This Velma was strong, murderous and definitely not one to play with. Here’s the final look!
